Libeau Family Book Submissions

Thank you for your interest in the Libeau Descendants Society’s update to The Libeau Family of Banks Peninsula, last revised in 2012. The book catalogues all of the known descendants of Joseph Libeau sr. (1807-1883), in order to preserve our family history for future generations.

What we’re looking for

  • Information from your family knowledge about any descendant or spouse who are not in the 2012 book.
    • Do not submit information you may have gathered from newspapers, online genealogy sites and so on. We are here to document our shared memories while they last.
  • Corrections of any wrong or missing details in the 2012 book.
  • Photos. (We cannot re-use photos by scanning the 2012 book, as the print quality was too poor).

Copies of the 2012 Book

The 2012 book is out of print. However, if you would like to receive a PDF copy of your line from the 2012 book, in order to see which people may need updating, please contact us. We will need to verify your identity before sending out the PDF.

How to submit

  • Online via our Google Form
    • The form allows you to submit spouses, children, multiple photos, and one biography. It includes a privacy statement.
    • Please submit a separate copy of this form for each descendant who is to have their own biography.
    • Please keep the biographies concise, due to consideration of the print size of the book.
    • If you are unable to sign in to Google, or otherwise have trouble with the form, try to get assistance from another friend or family member.
  • Contact us by email
    • If you have collated information about your branch of the tree in genealogy software already, we can accept submissions in that form.

If you are not sure exactly where you fit in to the tree, please make a submission anyway. If our genealogists are unable to place you, we will contact you for further information.

Deceased Ancestors

Information about deceased ancestors may be submitted directly to WikiTree, instead of using our form. This includes biographical details, personal Memories, and photos. We will soon add a guide for submitting Libeau information to WikiTree. If you take this route, drop us an email to let us know which profiles you have added to.
